What would you do?
So you have learned about various ways to be active in your communities. Regardless of whether or not you end up coming back to live in your hometown or whether you move to a large city, there will always be ways for you to give back to your community. The former FACS teacher had a saying that went "Service is the rent we pay for living." What does that statement mean to you? Do you agree or disagree with it? Why or why not?

ReplyDeleteI think that this statement means we should help make the earth healthier because it gives us food and water. i agree with this statement because i think that everyone should help the earth feel healthy and produce healthy fruits and vegetables. i also think that when we pick up trash around the world it makes the water healthy and then kids around the world don't have to drink dirty water and they can drink clean water.

ReplyDeleteYes, I do agree with this statement made by Mrs. Haiwick because being an active member of the community means that you are taking part in making the world we live in a better place. Sitting around and doing nothing while everyone else is helping people means that you are lazy and selfish. Community service isn't hard it just requires a little elbow grease and the desire to create a better world.
ReplyDeleteThis statement means that, the price for living is giving something back to the community by doing work. I agree with this statement, because I think that there should be work done during your life time. It will also make your our community look better.

ReplyDeleteI believe the statement, "service is the rent we pay for living," means that everyone needs to help out their school, community, etc. with community service. Everyone is expected to do some kind of community service sometime in their lives to pay for living. It basically means that you owe your time and work for having and living a life on Earth. I completely agree with this saying, because everyone owes their school community, etc. some kind of service for living.

ReplyDeleteI would say that, this saying means we all have to do a little communtiy service sometime in our life. I guess I could agree with this statement, because if somebody went to court for something, they may have a certain number of hours to make up or if they are taking a class such as we are they may also have a certain amount of hours to make up. Even if you are in the army or working in an office you will most likely run into community service sometime in your life.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is true, because if you didn't care about the earth, then it will get ruined. Animals would eventually die, and then we would eventually die. The water and air would become more polluted. In some places, it is really bad because no one cares what happens to the earth. All the natural beauty in the earth will be ruined. I do agree with it because you have to care unless you want the world to end. I believe it is true because I believe in a clean world so we can be healthy and lively. I wouldn't want to live in a world where there is trash on every square inch.
ReplyDeleteThis statement means that we should do service because that is our rent. I agree with this statement because that is what should be done for living. If we do not do serivice we will not be paying back for living.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with this statement! In or to kepp our community clean and not have it look like a disaster, we all need to work together in order to give back to the environment. We can recycle or just picking up the trash around the town can help tremendously!
